É Read ✓ Carsick: John Waters Hitchhikes Across America by John Waters ↠´ Do yourself a favour and start reading at page 193 The first 2 3 of the book are fiction and read like the journal of a spoiled, rich kid trying to shock his parents I ve enjoyed all of John Waters books from the early Shock Value Crackpot right up to Role Models and his art books, but this was the first one I was tempted not to finish The fictional good rides and bad rides are so tedious to read and laughably unbelievable Nothing shocking here, aside from John Waters trying too hard.
The real rides from page 193 on are funny, entertaining and make you want Had I only read the last 1 3 of the book it would have received a 5 star rating.

Recently, after thoroughly enjoying the audiobook of Role Models, I decided to give the audiobook of Carsick a go, AND ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT Mr Waters voice and expression evokes such feeling I now found the story captivating and could not help but laugh, and at times exclaim a couple of Oh my god s aloud I listened alone while completing otherwise mundane chores around the house, and felt I was right along with him on the trip and it was fun Like any good book, I was satisfied and a little sad when it was over, what is unique to this experience is that now I feel like I miss a friend.
Hopefully someone with some dollars and sense will make this into a movie.

John s take on the subject of hitch hiking across America is highly entertaining but also, I must say, informative I laughed a lot and was also shocked, yet entertained, as always by his tongue in cheek reviling humour I mean, this stuff really happens real life is horrific and repellant than fiction What You think people make this stuff up I just really like John Waters work.
