ó Read ó Does This Mean You'll See Me Naked?: Field Notes from a Funeral Director eBook: Webster, Robert: Amazon.ca: Kindle Store by Robert Webster ó This is the first book that I ve ever read on a funeral director s professional life and experiences and I ve found it to be absolutely fascinating The author discusses the many facets of his profession what the work physically involves, the prices and fees that are charged, the many different types of people he has dealt with, rivalries within families, some of the awfully strange situations that he has found himself in over the decades some rather amusing, some horrifying and some very strange and much The author has also kindly provided very useful information and advice types of caskets and their prices, types of services offered, the pros and cons of pre arranging one s own funeral and the various pitfalls and how to avoid them Most importantly, the author tells us how death can and should be dealt with compassionately and fairly by all professionals in his field something that unfortunately does not always happen.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I appreciate the author s useful advice, some of which I intend to apply in my own situation.
The author writes very clearly and in a friendly, frank and very engaging style He clarifies certain terms and debunks some misinformation The stories that are recounted are very revealing, always fascinating and full of surprises This book, because of its subject matter, should be of interest to absolutely everyone.

It is relevant to the USA than the UK but was still interesting The psychological stuff is still relevant but the rest isn t Although some of the behind the scenes information was interesting I found the writer bland as he just recited one incident after another with no real thread through the book I did not think it was well written and found it tedious.
I enjoyed this book it was funny in parts good to know what goes on how people react would recommend fab book

Wonderfully realistic Not an easy theme, but the book is written with a deep respect, but also with a delicate sense of humour, which is necessary to survive while dealing daily with the death, that sometimes can be really gruesome The author did not only write a book, but showed himself as a man of virtue, compassion and good will to serve We can only wish that he become the president.
